LittleBids is a marketplace for children's handmade crafts, used by parents and guardians. We collect only what we need to run auctions safely, never sell your data, and let you delete your account at any time. To request deletion, see our User Data Deletion page.
Who we are
LittleBids ("LittleBids", "we", "us", or "our") operates the website littlebids.ae and related mobile applications (collectively, the "Service") — a marketplace where children, with the supervision of a parent or guardian, can list handmade crafts for auction and where registered bidders can place offers. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to all users of the Service.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), role (parent, bidder, or admin), and language preference.
- Profile and listing information: child nicknames, age group, interests, and avatars created and managed by a parent account; auction listings, descriptions, categories, and images you upload.
- Authentication data from third parties: if you choose "Continue with Google" or "Continue with Facebook", we receive your name, email address, and a unique identifier from that provider in order to create or sign you into your account. We do not receive your social account password, and we do not post to your social accounts.
- Transaction information: bids, offers, order status, shipping address, and payment status. Card payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, and cookies or similar technologies used to keep you signed in, remember your language, and operate edge caching.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and authenticate sign-in.
- To operate the marketplace: publish listings, run auctions, place and manage bids and offers, process payments, and arrange shipping.
- To send service notifications you have opted into (in-app, email, WhatsApp, or push), such as outbid alerts, winning notifications, and auction reminders.
- To moderate content and keep the platform safe, including reviewing listings before they go live.
- To comply with legal obligations and to detect, prevent, and address fraud or abuse.
Children's privacy
LittleBids is designed to be used by adults (parents and guardians) acting on behalf of their children. Accounts are registered and controlled by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for any child profile they create. Children do not create their own accounts and cannot transact independently. A parent or guardian may review, edit, or delete a child profile at any time from the parent dashboard, or by contacting us at [email protected].
How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as needed to operate the Service:
- Service providers (data processors) acting on our behalf, including authentication (Supabase), payments (Stripe), image and file storage, messaging providers, and observability tooling.
- Other users, only to the limited extent necessary to complete a transaction (for example, a seller and a winning bidder exchanging shipping details through the platform).
- Authorities or third parties where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.
Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After account deletion, we remove or anonymise your data, except where we must retain certain records (for example, transaction and tax records) to comply with legal obligations.
Your rights and choices
- Access, correct, or update your information from your account settings.
- Withdraw consent for optional notifications at any time through your notification preferences.
- Disconnect a linked Google or Facebook login and continue using email sign-in.

Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language preference, and similar technologies to operate edge caching. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and continually improve our safeguards.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service.
